Schulmerich® Authorized Refurbishment (Asia)

Schulmerich® Authorized Refurbishment (Asia)

Schulmerich® Handbells are built to last, but from time to time, they may need refurbishment. In efforts to preserve the warranty of our instruments worldwide, Schulmerich named Hong Kong Handbell Academy (HKHA) the exclusive Authorized Refurbishment Center for Asia. Their work will be performed under Schulmerich® Handbells’ supervision. Work performed by HKHA will continue to receive Schulmerich's lifetime warranty and will be backed by the full force of the company's tradition of customer service.

HKHA was approved based on their quality of work, customer satisfaction, and commitment to the preservation of Schulmerich’s standard of excellence. HKHA is located in Hong Kong, so as to keep shipping costs low and minimize turn-around time. They have recently undergone extensive training and are ready to provide factory-authorized, quality work. There are different levels of handbell refurbishment and handchime tune-ups available. Choose whether your bells need a top-to-bottom Complete Refurbishment or our basic Clean, Polish and Adjust. We can provide the refurbishment that meets your needs. In addition, all HKHA facilities will now use our Optional Polishing Method to ensure uniform instrument tuning to Schulmerich exacting standards. Because this method is less aggressive, natural blemishes/marks might remain on an aging casting. We will not polish castings in a way that degrades the quality of sound.

Please contact us for information on scheduling your next refurbishment.

Changes to Schulmerich® Parts Policy

The refurbishment policy is intended to help customers protect their investments, and not to inconvenience or restrict customers from repairing their own instruments. Customers will still be able to order parts for their own instruments. Schulmerich and HKHA reserve the right to limit the sale of parts that enable or support the disassembly of our custom Yoke Assemblies. If a customer wants to order parts to refurbish their own set of bells, we may agree to sell the parts, but please be aware that repairs performed by an unauthorized or untrained personnel may damage your set and invalidate your warranty.
