盧悅穎 Joyce Lo
Joyce Lo obtained her Bachelor Degree in Arts in Music Composition and Master Degree in Visual Arts in Art Administration from HKBU. She began learning handbell with Ms. Emily Li during her undergraduate studies and soon became a member of Hong Kong Baptist Univesity Handbell Choir. Joyce had performed extensively and served as a committee member of the choir. She then joined Gloves Handbell in 2007 and participated in different handbell events and concerts. Joyce is currently the chairperson of Gloves.
Joyce actively engaged in music education and promotion of handbell into the musical mainstream. She became Hong Kong Handbell Academy (HKHA) tutor since 2006, and has been conductor of handbell teams from local schools. She leaded the teams to different performances and has been awarded several times in previous Hong Kong Handbell Festival (HBF) School Handbell Competitions. Also, Joyce is one of the HBF Mass Ring conductors in 2009 and 2010. Since 2009, Joyce further contributed to local youth handbell and music education by becoming a conductor of Hong Kong Youth Handbell Ensemble (YHE), and leaded the ensemble to perform in YHE concerts, HKHA Annual Concerts, and has been invited to give Christmas performance at the Hong Kong International Airport, shopping malls and community centres, and also for charity events.
林凱茵 Helen Lam
Helen Lam is a pianist, singer, flutist, choral conductor, handbell ringer and conductor, and an avid lover of all musical things. She has strong commitment in music education and performance over the years.
Helen holds a bachelor degree of music (music education) from the Hong Kong Baptist University with first class honor and a bachelor degree of business administration from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in psychology from Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Licentiate of the Trinity College of Music London (LTCL) in piano performance with distinction, a Grade 8 Distinction in Voice, a Grade 8 Merit in Flute and a Grade 8 Merit in Theory from the Royal School of Music. She is currently studying a Master degree of Choral Conducting in Saint Joseph University.
Helen studied choral conducting with Dr. Jerome Hoberman, Ms. Nancy Telfer and Mr. Pedro Monteiro, piano with Mr. Ma Cong, vocal with Ms. Jeffrey Leung and Ms. Sofia Serra, flute with Mr. Timothy Wilson, handbell with Ms. Emily Li. Helen participated in various performances, including Musicarama (2012), Youth Nation at TVB, Ocean Park 30th Anniversary, Handbell Symposium (Florida, 2008) and mass ring conductor of Hong Kong Handbell Festival from 2009-2011. She is one of the chorus members of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and performs Handel’s Messiah and Britten’s War Requiem in 2013.
劉雪瑩 Mandy Lau
Mandy Lau obtained her Bachelor Degree from The Hong Kong Institute of Education and Master Degree from The Hong Kong Baptist University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She started conducting handbell, handchime and belleplate teams in local primary and secondary schools in 2004 to present. Mandy is currently a ringer of Hong Kong Bellzone and conductor of Hong Kong Youth Handbell Ensemble.
Mandy first met handbell in The Hong Kong Institute of Education and began learning it with Ms. Zerlina Wong. During her undergraduate years, Mandy had organized handbell concerts and workshops, and became the chairman of Handbell Ensemble. She then learnt handbell duet with Ms. Emily Li in Hong Kong Handbell Academy. Mandy had performed in various concerts including public Christmas events, Hong Kong Handbell Festival, To Ring with Love, International Asian Handbell Festival. Mandy had participated in the 12th–14th International Handbell Symposium, she enjoyed performing and exchanging own experience with ringers from all over the world. In 2008, Mandy gained lots of valuable experiences from handbell masters around the world at the National Seminar in Orlando. She has also obtained Handbell Director Certification from the American Guided English Handbell Ringers.
張佩霞 Peony Cheung
Peony Cheung graduated from Hong Kong Institute of Education with Certificate in Primary Education and Bachelor of Education (Honours), majoring in Chinese and Music. She has followed Ms. Emily Li to learn handbell and achieved Certificate of Handbell Advanced Course and Certificate of Handbell Teacher Training Course.
In the past years, she has participated various competitions and events like Echoes for Peace concert during the 14th International Handbell Symposium in Osaka, Japan, the 4th Hong Kong Handbell Festival, Yuen Long Art Festival, TVB program, etc. In particular, she has been to Orlando, Florida to join The 13th International Handbell Symposium and National Seminar.
Peony was a massed conductor for the 7th Hong Kong Handbell Festival concert in 2012. Now, she is leading various handbell, handchime, belleplate teams in primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong. She is also running handbell workshops and helping students to form handbell teams to join inter-school competitions in Hong Kong every year and the results are always remarkable.
李芷倫 Karen Li
Karen Li graduated from Hong Kong Institute of Education with Certificate in Primary Education and Bachelor of Education (Honours), majoring in Music. Karen was a committee member of HKIEd Handbell Ensemble and connected school to promote handbell. She also organized internal handbell concerts and activities during her study in HKIEd.
Karen had involved in vary performance in these years. It includes The Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre 鈴感手鈴音樂會, 2009 HKIEd annual concert, shopping mall performances and the workshops by HKIEd.
Shortly after graduation, Karen has joined Hong Kong Handbell Academy and become conductor of schools. She leads school handchime and handbell ensembles to compete in handbell competitions with great acknowledgment.
賴明心 Janice Lai
Janice Lai graduated from Hong Kong Institute of Education with Certificate in Primary Education and Bachelor of Education (Honours), majoring in Music. She obtained the ATCL in piano from St. Trinity College, ABRSM Grade 8 piano and Grade 8 theory. Janice was Hong Kong Institution of Education (HKIEd) Handbell Ensemble member and actively performed handbell including 2009 Hong Kong Handbell Festival Closing Concert and Mass Ring, 2009 HKIEd Handbell Annual Concert, Hong Kong Jockey Club Primary School Handbell Workshop, shopping mall performance, etc.
After graduation, Janice follows Ms. Emily Li to continuously learn handbell and achieved Certificate of Handbell Intermediate Course and Certificate of Handbell Teacher Training Course. She is a member of the Hong Kong Handbell Academy Quintet Ensemble, actively involves in performances such as workshops in local schools and shows at shopping malls. Meanwhile, Janice conducts handbell and handchime ensembles in schools and leads ensembles in school handbell competitions with remarkable results. Janice is also a member of Ring Around the World (RAW) and actively involves in handbell performances and promotions.
卓素芝 Julie Chuck
Julie Chuck graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in Piano and Music Education. She acquired the diploma in Piano from the Trinity College of Music in Britain. She also obtained her post-graduated diploma in teaching and Master Degree in Language Studies (Linguistics).
Julie has been learning handbell with Ms. Emily Li since 2006. She is one of the members of Bell Allure. Julie performed extensively in the past few years. Started from 2008, Julie also participated actively in the 13th, 14th and 15th International Handbell Symposiums and National Handbell Seminar in USA, Japan and Britain respectively.
Julie is now actively involving in handbell education. She conducts handchime ensembles in a primary school and leads the ensembles in school handbell competitions with remarkable results. Julie becomes the conductor of Hong Kong Youth Handbell Ensemble in 2012.
